Add files to the collection

Select files to add
ABC-View Manager works slightly different than most other file viewers. You will first need to tell ABC-View which files belong to its collection before being able to work with them.

In this way you can have multiple collections independent of each other. For example, you have your holiday pictures, you have your private pictures, and you have a work-related collection of files.
You can switch these collections by saving the old one and loading a new one with the Load and Save menu options.

Adding files to a collection
When ABC-View starts, there's always an empty collection. You can add files to this collection in two ways:

Method 1:

·Rightclick on All Items in Current Collection

·Click on Add Folder(s)  

Method 2:
·Click on the Add Folders(s) icon in the taskbar

You will be presented with this dialog (reference here):

·clip0007 Select the base folder where your files are. You can do this by clicking on the small "Open" icon next to the folder name.

·Browse to the folder you want to add and click on OK  

·You can choose to include the subdirectories in the search. All files in the subdirectories will then also be added.  

·Click on Add to start adding all the files in the folder.  

The folders will be scanned and the progress can be seen on the status bar:

Finished!
When the process finishes, you will see the files in the list on the right. You will see the totals in the lower left corner on the status bar. And the tree on the left shows the number of items that are now in the collection:
